Steve Jobs introduced Mac Book Air at Mac World on Janurary 16rh 2008. This is a first laptop of its kind. It is also the thinnest ever. It is 0.75 inches at it's thickest point. It's cross-section is like a tear drop. It is so thin that Steve Jobs took it out of an envelop on the stage!

Two Point Touch Technology: This laptop incorporates the two point touch technology used by iPhones. You can use two or three fingers to perform complex operations like:

  • Rotate pictures.
  • Zoom in and out of web pages, itunes and other supported apple applications.
  • You can flip back and forth between web pages in Safari with a flick of three fingers.

No Optical Drive: Another noteworthy feature of this laptop is that it does not have an optical device. This means that you cannot insert a CD or DVD in this latop. You can, however, get an external CD/DVD drive which can plug into the USB port. Other option is to 'mount' the DVD or CD from a different machine. This machine could be a Mac or PC. You just need to install supported drivers and using wireless technology the laptop will be able to read and install software from the remote CD/DVD drive.
